Habitat for Humanity's Women Build Week, sponsored by Lorain County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, invites local women to devote at least one day during the week to help build a decent and affordable house here in Lorain County. More than 17,000 women, including Lowe’s Heroes volunteers from across the country, are expected to volunteer at construction sites as part of 2017 National Women Build Week.
The Women Build program enables women to help eliminate poverty housing by building homes and communities and is a great opportunity for women of all skill levels to come together to help a family have a place to call home. . Through Women Build, thousands of women volunteers and homeowners gain the confidence and skills to lay bricks, pound nails, raise walls – and create hope.
Volunteers also gain the confidence and the skills needed to effectively contribute to Habitat’s mission. Additionally, they will be better equipped to maintain their homes for themselves and their children. There are two options to learn: She Shed Women Build Workshops and Lowe's Women Build How - To Trainings.
Lowe's Home Improvement is a dedicated supporter of National Women Build Week and will be offering how-to clinics April 8th and May 6th from 10 AM - 12 PM to teach volunteers construction skills.
Clinic Topics include the following:
How to Safely Use Hand and Power Tools
How to Frame Walls and Roofs
How to Install Exterior Siding
